Ordinary Toby jug produced by W. H. Goss of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1925. The Ordinary Toby is the original toby jug featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat. This Ordinary Toby is seated in a chair, with a churchwarden pipe in his left hand and a full mug of ale in his right. This jug has a verse on the front of the base describing Toby's love of drink. There are eight known sizes of Goss Ordinary Tobies with this being the second largest.
