Midshipmite Fiddler Toby jug - Astbury 1780

Midshipmite Fiddler toby jug made by English potter Frank Stoner circa 1900. In the style of the Ordinary Toby the Midshipmite group of toby jugs are not as well modeled and feature a seated soldier with an empty scabbard on his left side holding some tool of his trade. This Midshipmite Fiddler is playing a violin. This is one of only six made, making it a very rare jug.
