Martha Gunn figurine produced in a Pearlware finish in Staffordshire, England, circa 1920. Martha Gunn (1727-1815) was a ladies bather at the sea in Brighton who was very experienced and highly requested and famous for bathing the Prince of Wales King George III's son in 1785. This figurine also serves as a functional pipe, with Martha holding a dog in her lap and a figural pipe to her mouth. This pipe can be smoked from the back of the serpent handle.
