Humphrey Bogart character jug version 2 prototype - Royal Doulton 1989

Humphrey Bogart character jug version 2 prototype designed by Eric Griffiths and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in 1989 commissioned by UK International Ceramics for the proposed Great Film Stars Collection. Humphrey DeForest Bogart (1899-1957), nicknamed Bogie, was an American film and stage actor. His performances in Classical Hollywood cinema films made him an American cultural icon. In 1999, the American Film Institute selected Bogart as the greatest male star of classic American cinema. A heavy smoker and drinker, Bogart died from esophageal cancer in January 1957. A filmstrip with the title "Casablanca" forms the handle of the jug.
