Hod Carrier 3/4 body toby jug produced by Elliot Brothers in England in 1987. A hod carrier a laborer employed in carrying supplies to bricklayers, stonemasons, cement finishers, or plasterers on the job. His principal tool is a brick hod, a three-sided box for carrying bricks or other building materials, often mortar. The hod bears a long handle and is carried over the shoulder. A hod is usually long enough to accept four bricks on their side. This is an advertising jug for Elliot Brothers and is one of the jugs in the Working Man Series.
