Florida Gator face pot - Kevin Francis 2005

Florida Gator face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2005 limited edition of 150 for Victorian Village and the 2005 Team Tour. An alligator, or gator, is a large reptile in the Crocodilia order in the genus Alligator of the family Alligatoridae. Alligators first appeared during the Oligocene epoch about 37 million years ago. The name alligator is an anglicized form of el lagarto, the Spanish term for "the lizard", which early Spanish explorers and settlers in Florida called the alligator. Victorian Village is a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. The Victorian Village Historic District was established in 1973 to protect the unique architectural and historical features of the neighborhood.
