Ebenezer Scrooge character jug - United States circa 1970

Ebenezer Scrooge character jug produced by Claudia, likely a local studio amateur artist, in the United States circa 1970. Ebenezer Scrooge is the elderly man with a heart of stone from Dickens' novel "A Christmas Carol". Probably Charles Dickens' best known character, the miserly Scrooge, with his familiar cry of "Bah, Humbug!", is visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, who sends three more spirits, or ghosts of Christmas, in hopes of reforming Scrooge's heartless and penny-pinching ways. Scrooge will not let his downtrodden partner leave work to return to his family for the Christmas holiday. After visits by the three ghosts on Christmas Eve, Scrooge finds compassion in his heart and changes his ways. The Ghost of Christmas Past and a candle form the handle of this jug.
