Archeiro toby jug - Bordalo Pinheiro Pottery circa 1890

Archeiro majolica toby jug produced by Bordalo Pinheiro Pottery in Portugal circa 1890. Archeiro appears to be a high ranking admiral of the Portuguese fleet. He is standing proudly with a pair of eyeglasses around his neck and a sword on his left hip. The sash from his military parade jacket forms the handle of the jug.
