This is a pair of Royal Doulton character jugs featuring famous American explorers Meriwether Lewis, model number D7235, and William Clark, model number D7234. Designed by Caroline Dadd, this pair is a part of Doulton's American Icons Series and was relesed in 2005 in a limited edition of 1,000 each. Specially commissioned by the American Toby Jug Museum to commemorate the 200th anniversary of "The Voyage of Discovery" from 1804 to 1806, these jugs were issued a pair. Standing 5" tall, the pair is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
